who is Marjane now?
Marjane becomes a social activist even when she got back to Iran. She designed a new uniform with a shorter veil, she throws secret house parties like her parents used to throw when she was a young girl. She even gets married to Reza, who later she divorces.
You throw out some strong points- the reason she was offered to design a new uniform for her school was all due to the fact that she spoke up during class one day. Had she decided not to do that, she would not gain the attention of her school officials and classmates. While the younger Marjane did do similar things, the 10 year-old Marjane was also very impressionable, like when she was eventually persuaded to skip class and get some hamburgers with older girls...she would not let the thoughts of others cloud over her own anymore as a matured woman. Like you said, she even throws parties with music and dancing. Her refusal to stop even after imprisonment is a clear example she isn't conforming to the fundamentalist ideals.
